| Exciting Relays Close 2010 Youth/ Junior World Championships |
| Germany once, Russia twice, and Norway were the final winners on the last day of the 2010 IBU Youth and Junior World Championships in Torsby, Sweden. The day was filled with four exciting Relay competitions and ended with Torsby passing on the IBU Flag to the next host Nove Mesto na Morave in the Czech Republic. |

| Russian Athletes Take Youth Pursuit Titles |
| Badanina and Pechenkin Win Gold |
| The results of the Youth Women’s 7.5K Pursuit looked just like the Sprint as the top three finishers did not change. Elena Badanina of Russia won the competition with two penalties ahead of Ingela Andersson of Sweden and Monika Hojnisz of Poland, with both missing three targets. In the Youth Men’s 10K Pursuit competition, Aleksandr Pechenkin won his first Gold of these Championships after placing second twice. The Silver was Johannes Kühn of Germany ahead of Ivan Pichuzhkin, also from Russia. |

| There was never a moment in which Manuel Müller’s victory in the Junior Men’s 12.5K Pursuit competition was in danger today at the IBU Youth/Junior World Championships. The German athlete finished ahead of Vladimir Alenishko of Belarus and Evgeny Petrov of Russia. In the Junior Women’s 10K Pursuit, Sophie Boilley of France took the title with Anastasia Kalina of Russia and Synnøve Solemdal of Norway finishing second and third. |

| Three Medals for Germany in Men’s Sprints |
| Evgeny Petrov of Russia claimed the Junior Sprint World Championship today in Torsby, while Johannes Kühn of Germany took the Youth Sprint World Championship. Petrov was perfect on the shooting range, while Kühn had a single penalty. |

| Torsby is a small town in central Sweden in the province of Värmland. By area, Torsby is the largest and northernmost municipality in the country with about 13 000 residents, most of them living in small single-family houses. Additionally, there are many holiday homes throughout the region which is great for hiking, swimming, or fishing in the summer and skiing in the winter. |

| The IBU Youth and Junior World Championships in Torsby, Sweden continued today with the Individual competitions for the women. In the Youth category, two Russians Olga Galich and Elena Badanina were impressive on the tracks, taking the top two spots ahead of clean-shooting Rose-Marie Cote of Canada. |

| The competitions at the 2010 IBU Youth and Junior World Championships in Torsby began this morning with the Youth Men’s 12.5K Individual. Martin Maier of Austria won thanks to his perfect shooting. In the afternoon competition Yann Guigonnet of France won the Junior 15K Individual World Championship title. |

| T he Youth- and Junior World Championships 2010 officially opened last night In Torsby, Sweden. About 30 teams registered for the competitions which start on Wednesday. Since the young athletes do not have many opportunities to compare themselves on an international level, anticipation is high. |

| 33 nations registered to participate Thirty-three youth and junior national teams have applied to participate in the competitions at Valberget, at the end of January and beginning of February 2010. This means a total of 517 people, among them athletes, coaches, staff and officials will be staying in the Torsby area. |
