| Presidents in Argentina and Norway Confirmed |
| The Argentinian Modern Pentathlon Federation, which is also responsible for Biathlon, held their Congress on May 31. That day the federation prepared their plans for the next four years, while also electing their officials. The Norwegian Congress took place last weekend. |

| A Good Balance between Training and Family |
| US Biathlon Team in Lake Placid |
| “The Americans probably travel the most of any teams, along with the Canadians” explained US Biathlon Coach Per Nilsson. Last year the US team had a seven-week-long training camp in Europe followed by three weeks of training in Utah right. The athletes were far from home for most of the year. However, the approach this year is different. As most of the team members come from the northeastern USA, many of them can actually stay at home during the first training camp for the team, which took place in Lake Placid, New York. Tanja Ohlson visited the team in Lake Placid, during a recent, private, trip to the US. |

| IBU Honorary Member Ole Jacob Bangstad Passes... |
| Norwegian Official Helped Popularize Biathlon |
| The Norwegian Biathlon Federation and the International Biathlon Union are saddened by the death of Ole Jacob Bangstad. Bangstad was the Chairman of the Norwegian Committee for Biathlon from 1960 to 1972, President of the Norwegian Shooting Federation from 1973 to 1984, which at the time was also responsible for biathlon, and Vice President of the UIPMB from 1972 to 1976. He was made an Honorary Member of IBU for his service to biathlon. |

| The Bulgarian Biathlon Federation voted in Olympic Champion Ekaterina Dafovska as their new President. Dafovska won a Gold medal in the 15K Individual at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano. She retired as an active athlete after the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. |
