New Snow on Tuesday Afternoon

The work done over the past week by the organizers was helped by the arrival of some natural snow in recent days. Since that snow, the temperatures warmed over freezing with some heavy rain this morning. However, by late afternoon, that rain had again turned into accumulating snow. According to weather reports, temperatures will remain steady near freezing on Wednesday, with much colder weather and more light snow as the weekend approaches.

TD Expects Good Conditions for Competitions

IBU Technical Delegate Max Cobb, looking out over the stadium as the snow fell, commented, “The tracks are actually in pretty good shape considering all of the heavy rain earlier. We did not groom or allow training today. That will allow all of the rain to pass through the base of snow on the tracks. We will groom in the morning before unofficial training. I expect conditions to be okay. However, it will get colder as the week goes on and we expect to have very good conditions for the competitions days.”

Competitions Friday through Sunday

This week’s competitions are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Sprints on Friday at 11:15 for women, 14:15 for men. Pursuits follow on Saturday with a noon start for women and 14:15 for women. The competitions conclude with Relays on Sunday with an 11:00 start for the women and 14:15 for men.
