Antholz
After Antholz last week, a week that could not have been better for me, everyone now looks towards Whistler. My first bag is already on its way there, as today a container with skis, wax and bags was shipped directly to Whistler.
Before we move into the Olympic Village on February 9, we will go to Vancouver Island on Monday for a final training block where we will get in top shape.
I meant to start shaping up this week in Oberhof, but something got in my way. In Antholz already a few athletes, mostly from the other teams, caught a stomach bug. Martina could not start because of that last Sunday and now it seems to be my turn. But I prefer a stomach bug over bronchitis. My suffering is still bad but at least it will be over pretty soon. So it should not get in the way of being at my best in Whistler; it still is two weeks before the start of the Games.
Unfortunately, I will not be allowed to write any further blog entries between February 2nd and March 3rd. During the Olympic Winter Games all blog entries and such is forbidden for all competitors.
I will get back to you in March and I wish all fans a lot of fun while cheering us on, suffering with us or, in the best case, celebrating with us.
Best regards
Andrea
