Andrea in Muonio
The trip to our training camp in Muonio took place one day later than planned because the airport here was closed on November 9th. We have now been here for a while and are training hard. The snow conditions are okay. We had more snow in previous years, but there were some years with less snow as well. For me, it’s the fifth time here and I still like it. The comfortable huts, short distance to the tracks and good food make it a good place to be. Still, 2 ½ weeks of camp are absolutely enough. The darkness lasts well into the late morning and sunset in the early afternoon are the not so nice things about the Finnish woods. Yesterday, during our day off, we went up the mountain which the sun usually hides behind because we wanted to see a little bit of sunshine again. Martina, Kati, Simone and I came up the mountain at around 2 pm, just in time to see the sun go down.
Training is up to full speed. Because of my illness before this camp I could not get right into the normal program. Our camp is separated into four parts and I am one part behind, so to speak. This means I will not participate in the last part with the training competition. But last year I also could not do that exact same part because last year I was sick. So it should not be a big problem. It is much more important that I am well again and can train properly. Maybe I can do a competition against myself at the end of the week. We will stay in Muonio until Wednesday. On Thursday most of us go back home. Christoph Stephan, Kati, Simone, Martina and I will go to Östersund, just like last year (Simi does this for the first time this year).

Best regards
Andrea
